- Two strokes from Ingolstadt again? A extract from "The Engineer" 15th March 1973. An interview with Dr Bernhard Buchner, head of engine research at Audi-NSU, Ingolstadt, "prophesied that two-stroke engines will make a comeback for passenger cars. 'They are the engines of the 80's', he says." Postscript - While Dr Buchner's reasoning was sound for both engineering and economic grounds, we all know that this did not happen. I still believe that in the era of hybrid electric motors, a modern, economic two-stroke engine to maintain charge to the electric engine is THE most logical solution. But we shall see whether this will ever come to pass. Paul Markham.

This is an archive of Two-Stroke, the magazine of the DKW Owners Club of Great Britain from the mid-1970s. Although I have no connection to the DKW Owners Club of Great Britain, the accumulated knowledge contained in these magazines is too important to lose, so I have created this archive so that a new generation of DKW enthusiasts can benefit from the lessons of their predecessors
